Welcome...

The NWA is a voluntary organisation run by those who deal with people in any form of supported housing - but especially for those dealing with older adults. The NWA is committed to improving the professional status and level of support to its members. It is not a trade union. It has no negotiating machinery for salaries or other conditions of work.

It sees the improved training of its members as having a vitally important spin off for the well being of residents within sheltered/supported housing. The committee work on a voluntary basis. We listen to the problems and grievances of our members, talk through them and advise.

Where it is felt necessary, point members in the direction of special help.

The Aims

1. To exchange ideas and experiences

2. To work with interested parties, individuals and organisations who may have specialist skills concerning the membership

  and client group

3. To liaise with other organisations to promote/monitor legislation and inform the membership accordingly

4. To make others aware of our role

5. To gain proper and appropriate training and encourage members to participate

6. To obtain recognition from other professionals of our professionalism

7. To speak for the membership nationally and in response to the media misrepresentation and in positive promotion of our

  aims

8. To support individuals who have queries or problems about their work

9. To ensure equality of treatment for our members
